"I’ve had the pleasure of working with Davina on multiple large-scale reports for restaurant-industry trade magazines. On every project, she went above and beyond—not only writing comprehensive, 10,000+ word reports, but also using her deep industry knowledge to strategize and brainstorm what would best serve our audience and our clients’ goals. She is flexible, open to feedback, and highly adaptable. I hope to continue working with Davina and am excited to see what she does next."

"The first day I spent at QSR magazine, I read work Davina had written in a freelance capacity. It was both excellent and inspiring—I hoped to one day write hospitality content as well as she does. In the years following, it was a pleasure to be able to assign freelance work to Davina. I always knew the assignment was in capable hands. She never missed a deadline, and always turned in outstanding work that rarely needed edits. Davina felt like an extension of our team at QSR and FSR, and she was the consummate team player."

"Davina is undoubtedly organized, professional, reliable, and a phenomenal writer, but what makes her such a joy to work with is the ambitious, eager attitude she brings to every piece of content she produces.

While creating articles, case studies and more for Samsung Business Insights, Davina has blown me away with her enthusiasm for the subject matter and insatiable desire to learn and improve. She is thoughtful in her approach to new topics and skilled at crafting stories that speak to the audience she is writing for — whether that’s a small retail business or an enterprise hospitality company. She is truly an experienced writer and an invaluable asset."

She was an extension of my internal team and wrote everything from articles, to email content, to a killer white-paper on restaurant automation and its impact on labor savings in the back-of-house. Her knowledge of the restaurant space is invaluable. She was able to tap into this expertise to write content that resonated with our audience. She is detail-oriented and organized, managing multiple client projects with ease. Davina is a gem of a person with a pleasant demeanor and amazing attitude towards everything she does. I plan to continue working with her in the future. She’s fabulous!"

Daliah Singer
Freelance Journalist, Editor & Content Creator

"I worked with Davina van Buren for more than four months while she completed her editorial internship at 5280 Magazine. I typically hire about six interns a term, and Davina immediately stood out as a professional, personable, and hard-working young woman. Davina was always up for anything I handed her way, from fact-checking to story assignments. She asked intelligent questions and dealt well with feedback, listening to my critiques and applying them in subsequent assignments. I also worked with Davina on our event newsletter and when I needed an extra hand for a few weeks, including taking on the onerous task of pitching and writing an entire newsletter, she was more than willing to take on the additional work and complete it with the same amount of thought and attention to detail that she devotes to everything. Her writing was consistent (and improved throughout her time here) and always completed on deadline. Davina is pleasure to be around and has a strong desire to learn and grow."
